HighScope Curriculum and Video

Early Childhood Programs at Farmington Early Childhood Center utilize the research based HighScope Preschool Curriculum. The HighScope curriculum is aligned with the State of Michigan Early Learning Expectations, which is aligned with the Michigan Kindergarten Common Core curriculum. The HighScope curriculum utilizes Key Developmental Indicators (KDI’s) to support teaching and learning in the early childhood classroom. The Key Developmental Indicators address all domains of child development including Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Health, Language, Literacy and Communication, Mathematics, Creative Arts, Science and Technology, and Social Studies. The curriculum focuses on adult-child interaction, a developmentally appropriate learning environment, a regular daily routine, assessment of progress and active learning.
